According to Sumerian records, the Tower of Babel fell prior to his reign. "Then Bad-tibira fell and the kingship was taken to Larag (Larsa)." The building of the city of Bad-tibira is attributed to Nimrid. It is interesting to note that Mormon mythology places Jared at the Tower of Babel, and although nothing in their written works pin point the timing of the event, they seem to have accepted the general Christian tradition that the Tower of Babel occurred after the great flood. A great wealth of archaelogical and traditional conundrums can be solved by considering that the event commonly referred to as the Tower of Babel may actually have occurred before the great flood.
