The Shah of Kirm, Haftan-bokht, had seven sons, and each of them was appointed by him governor of a city with one thousand men under him. It is mentioned also that the kingdom of Kirm was able to recruit significant numbers of troops from the land of Sind, that is the area of Duhok and Zaxo (Saxo).

Following a battle for supremacy in which Ardashir (The Younger) was victorious, he installed a friendly and trusted vassal kingdom over the area of Kirmanshahan, which lasted from 226 to 380 AD. The most famous carvings in Kirmanshah are at Taq Bustan believed to be the historic site of the dynasty.
